Welcome to Learn To Podcast.
My name is James (Jimbo) Wilmshurst.
I am a Podcaster, Learning Technologist and a former radio presenter. I am also an experienced workshop instructor and school speaker.
Following achieving a degree in Media Production from the University of Huddersfield in 2009, I have worked in various roles (mainly in education) where I have continued to use, develop and share my skills in media production.
While working in education over the last 14 years, I also presented a regular weekly radio show on a Sunday and eventually I developed a keen interest in podcasting.
I now host and produce a talk and music based podcast which according to the latest Spotify Wrapped statistics, is in the top 5% of most shared podcasts globally and in the top 15% of most followed podcasts on Spotify.
Through my various roles working in education and my own training business, I also have lots of experience of delivering engaging workshops to staff in education and business but also to students in schools, colleges and universities.
In 2022 I created and delivered a pilot podcast workshop to a school in Barnsley, South Yorkshire which received excellent feedback from students and teachers. I also began to also deliver one to one podcast training tutorials online to individuals and entrepreneurs.
The aim of my Learn to Podcast project is to support people to develop their interest & skills in media production through fun, informative talks and workshops. Many assume that you need to have expensive equipment or lots of technical knowledge to create podcasts, however, my workshops will show people that it is actually really simple and easy to get started. I can also provide and share my experience of how to make a podcast successful and how to grow an audience.
I am really passionate about what I do and whatever training or workshops I have delivered in the past, I have always made sure they are fun, interactive and informative. The best way to learn something new.
